Verizon wants me to upgrade to a Droid. Cool. The trouble is, they want me to pay $299, less a $100 mail-in rebate for it, and then charge me another $139.99 per month to be able to use it's full functionality. The cost is just absurd. I only pay $60 a month for wireless service to my I-Mac. Why should I pay over twice that for a hand held device, that I will need 3X bifocals to read the text and see any detail on. For people on the go that need mobile communications for their job, that would be fine, as long as it was paid for by an employer or could be written off as a business expense, but for the average person just to play around on? Not unless they have money to burn.

I too have a Droid phone and adore it! But I'm on T-Mobile so mine can do the whole talking on the phone AND surfing the net like the iPhone does. Best still, I get full 4G speeds and it tethers to my network so that I'm actually paying less for comm around here. And because it's T-Mo I'm paying 79.99 a month for unlimited voice and 4G data because I've been a customer for a number of years. So worth it!

just for fun call their customer support and ask how to turn it on.
I had a woman call me every kind of stupid then turn around and ask how to turn her phone on. That was when the call turned from annoying to amusing.
